Damon didn't want to move, but he at least partly needed to collapse, sinking back, letting his fingers run easily down her leg. Glancing past her he met Elijah's gaze and smiled, a real smile, soft and sweet. He couldn't remember feeling this connected, this much like he...belonged, ever. No questions, no reservations, no holding back. It left him trembling when he thought about it too much.
Elijah smiled a little back at him, and finally found the ability to ease back from Rebekah, letting her body relax, though he snuggled back into her once they could all just curl back on the bed. He tangled his legs with hers, with Damon's, reaching for the other man's hand, lacing their fingers and bringing them to rest on Rebekah, keeping them all connected. So many things had gone wrong these last few months. Part of him was still grieving Lexi, another part of him still horrified by what their mother and Finn had done, and how he'd responded, but when he was with them, it seemed like everything was right again, like he could manage to heal from all of the rest.
