prodigalsavior: ([Elijah] Right kind of wrong)

After Rebekah's reaction to Klaus's presence, Damon had been even more determined to make certain to get some time with both her and Elijah. He got the message to Elijah, his room, after closing. Elijah's room was something he wasn't quite ready for, uncertainty of just how a morning after meeting in the kitchen would go, and really not wanting to find out until things...something.

He didn't know.

He just knew that he wasn't ready to give up what was really just supposed to be a one time thing.

He'd told the Original siblings that he needed to close up a few things, and to meet him back at his room. Rushing back, he'd made sure of a few things--stocked on blood bags; actual candles lit because, well, it was sort of a Valentine's Day recreation in some ways; lacing some wine with blood.

With a bit of a smirk to himself, he sent a message to let them know everything was ready, then poured himself some of the wine and waited for them to arrive.

Elijah's gaze narrowed, something that might have been jealousy flashing there for just a moment. "What sort of connection?"

Damon's smirk faded just a little, gaze turning serious. "Telepathic."

Elijah frowned. "...How?"

A little shrug. "Blood."

"I've had your blood," Elijah pointed out. "And you mine."

"It's not really something that just...happens without intent," Damon said quietly. "And I was not certain you would appreciate the intrusion."

Rebekah knew her brother well enough to recognize what was going on and she sat up slowly, watching him quietly like one might watch a bomb about to go off.

"Elijah." She finally said his name softly, reaching to curl her hand over his knee. "Don't be mad, we weren't going to keep it from you."

"I'm not mad." He said the words automatically, gaze flicking back to her, taking in the way she was looking at him. He wasn't Klaus, wasn't going to fly off into a jealous rage.

Damon sat, as well, Rebekah's wariness increasing his own. "We really weren't," he said, just as softly. "We were just teasing you before."

"You're something." Rebekah pointed out though she wouldn't dare say what she thought he was being at the moment. Frankly, it surprised her that he was acting jealous but maybe she shouldn't be. This whole thing had started out with the three of them after all.

She glanced briefly at Damon before focusing on Elijah again, lifting her hand to his cheek so he would look at her. "Please say something."

Elijah was surprised himself at the surge of emotion, and honestly, he could not say if it was knowing the two of them had been together, had forged something without him or that Rebekah had been with Damon or that he did not have that connection with either of them.

It was something of a parallel, for the moment, of how it felt with Faye and Klaus--part of something, but not.

"I'm just...surprised, is all." He didn't know what else to say to explain, when he couldn't himself. "I didn't know such a thing is possible."

Damon was still wary, not really believing him, even without the connection. "Neither was I. I mean, with vampires not from my world." The empathic, emotional connection...yes. He had that with Ric, but this was more on their end of capability. "I didn't think about it that first night."

And then he winced, just slightly, because he wasn't completely sure he should have said outright there had been another night with Rebekah.

Truthfully, it was a feeling that they were all familiar with. All of them were the odd piece in a relationship outside of who they were together. All of them knew what it felt like to be on the outside, to not be the chosen one, and maybe that was why they worked together.

Still, she would never want Elijah to think that she had forged something without him even if it was true. There was something between her and Damon but she knew there was with her and Elijah as well. Just as she was sure there was something between the two men.

"I didn't either. Not even when the connection was made, I didn't realize exactly what it meant." Or how strong it would be.

Damon cast her a look, catching some of that thought and frowning just a bit, but mostly in thought.

He reached across her, gently brushing his fingers down Elijah's cheek in turn. "If you want...we can try. You'll have to drop those walls of yours for it to work, though." And he didn't know what that would do to the rapidly rising level of entanglement they were tumbling into here.

Elijah looked uncertain. The idea of letting it get that intimate, of letting someone that deeply inside of him was a little unnerving. But being so on the outside was, as well. Those centuries of loneliness were wrapping around him.

"How...does it work?"

Damon shrugged. "Blood exchange, with mental defenses down. We find each others' thoughts then and...it tends to last, if you're open enough to it." He held up one hand. "You can keep me out. It's not like I can hear everything in your head all the time. Just...when we're otherwise connected, or open or very much focused."

Rebekah shifted back, settling against the headboard as Damon slid forward to talk to Elijah. Tilting her head, she watched them both as she wondered if her brother would agree to having that connection with someone. She knew he was generally more secretive than most people were but she also knew how lonely he felt at times. How lonely they all felt at times.

For a moment, she wondered what it would be like to have that connection with Elijah and she found herself longing to have the powers Damon did. Even if it was just the telepathy.

She also considered what it would be like if the three of them could be connected at the same time.

Damon had no idea if he could forge something between all of them, but he was willing to try, no matter the complications that might bring forth. But he waited for Elijah's say so.

Elijah glanced at Rebekah, not wanting to belittle what she'd found with Damon. It was a terrifying thing, to think of opening himself that much, but...how much less loneliness would there be, then.

"All right...I suppose there's no harm in trying."

Damon smirked a little, glancing over at Rebekah. "Are you all right with this, too?"

Resting against the headboard, she watched them with an opaque gaze, watching them as they considered each other and then glanced towards her.

"I'm fine." She nodded, motioning for them to continue.

Damon gave her a bit of a searching look, then nodded. Elijah shifted closer to him obligingly, when he tugged a little at him, and the younger vampire leaned in to bite him once more. He didn't necessarily need more of his blood, but it would help.

He reached out with his mind, hitting barriers Elijah seemed to have naturally up and poked at them lightly, gently, sending a thought, 'You have to let me in...'

Elijah jumped a bit at the whisper of thought, even as Damon pressed his wrist against the Original's mouth. With a startled sound, Elijah bit down, feeling the pull of blood Damon took as he drew from him in turn, and focused on reaching for, feeling the other vampire--a new, strange sensation--but the sudden compelling connection almost made him cry out again.

Rebekah met Damon's gaze but there wasn't anything to find since she was simply waiting to see what would happen next. A part of her was surprised by the jealousy from Elijah but she understood it as she hated being on the outside as well.

Wetting her lips, she felt a tiny shiver as the scent of blood it the air once more and she could almost see the moment when the connection was made. Truthfully, she almost felt it.

Offering a small smile, she looked between them both. "Did it work?"

Damon gave her a little smile as he eased back from Elijah, then glanced back at the older vampire, arching an eyebrow. 'Well?'

It was strange, the idea of just...thinking at him, and part of Elijah just wanted to nod. He did nod, actually, even as he added a thought, "Yes."

Damon's smile lit up his face. "I'm not certain if I can make it work between the two of you, or if I need to be a conduit. I've...never tried with two people not from my world." He, Stefan and Elena could all communicate with each other silently, able to hear the whole conversation, but..they were from the same world, had the same abilities.

Rebekah thought that if anyone should be able to do it from their world, it had to be her family especially considering who their parents were. Especially their mother.

Still, she shrugged. "Maybe it'll come in time?" She figured Elijah would want to get used to having the connection with Damon first.

Elijah shifted a little, sliding up to lean against the headboard, wrapping his arms back around her. Damon lounged where he was, enjoying the view far too much to move.

"It's possible," he said with a nod. "Or we can...experiment.." Three-way blood exchange, maybe.

"It's a little...strange," Elijah said tentatively, able to just...feel Damon's thoughts there. "But...not unpleasantly so."

Shifting closer to Elijah as he slid up to join her, she grinned as she tilted her head against his shoulder.

"I thought experimenting was what we were doing." She replied coyly, her eyes dancing with amusement though she was intrigued by the idea.

"Do you think we could get it to work?"

Then she tilted her head back to look at Elijah, nodding slightly. "You'll get used to it." She was pretty much there now and having Damon's thoughts in her head was comfortable now. So far.

Elijah chuckled a little bit at the experimenting comment, snuggling comfortably with Rebekah. The strange intimacy with Damon made him long for that more with her, to feel her so close inside him, as well.

Damon just smirked. "It's worth the try, once you're ready."

Elijah nodded a bit. He was willing to try, though getting used to Damon there first might be good.

Sliding her hand over Elijah's knee, she had to admit (to herself, at least) that she was a bit jealous now. If only because she wanted to know the thoughts that ran through Elijah's mind at times. Still, she wasn't going to get pissed off about it.

She grinned, shrugging. "Maybe in a couple days. I don't want you two to strain yourselves." At least not mentally.

Damon smirked again. "Well, there go my plans for the rest of the night," he teased, taking her words at face value, even though he'd picked up on the thought easily enough.

Elijah laughed, shaking his head, tilting his head to nuzzle at Rebekah's jaw. He had to admit, he wished he could get in her head, as well, to just know what she was thinking, feeling. "If we're wearing you out, Damon, feel free to say you need a break."

Rebekah chuckled at Elijah's teasing words, tilting her head to the side with a shiver as he nuzzled her. "Yes, Damon, you could take a break if you need it. We don't want you to tire out too quickly." She smirked at the younger vampire while sliding her hand slowly up Elijah's thigh.

Then she shifted back, twisting enough to face her brought as she reached to pull him down closer to her.

Damon gave them both an offended look, even as Elijah twisted into Rebekah's touch, into her lips, kissing her with a chuckle.

Damon watched, before reaching to run fingers up their outer thighs, one along each, sending the thought to both of them, 'I'm not the least bit tired.'

Rebekah made a noise close to an actual giggle against Elijah's lips before she deepened the kiss, wrapping her arms around his neck as she did. She heard Damon's reassurance and he would feel her amusement.

'So you say...' She teased.

Elijah moaned slightly, everything heightened again by the blood he'd shared with Damon, the brush of Rebekah's lips, her tongue, Damon's fingers sending little shivers over his skin. His own amusement flickered inside of his desire.

'Prove it...' he challenged Damon in turn.

Damon huffed a little at both of them, then shifted to press a kiss behind Rebekah's knee, fingers teasing along the back of Elijah's thigh.
